Concrete Repair: Clean First, Then Repair!

Concrete Repair: Clean First, Then Repair!
At EnviroNextGen Construction, we believe that a successful concrete repair starts with proper surface preparation. One of the most critical aspects of successful concrete repair is proper surface preparation, which directly affects the bond strength and durability of the repair material. Before any repair compound is applied, the damaged concrete area must be thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, debris, oil, laitance, loose particles, and contaminants that can interfere with adhesion. Additionally, washing the surface with water or a suitable cleaning agent helps open the concrete pores, allowing the repair material to form a strong mechanical and chemical bond with the substrate. Skipping this essential step often leads to delamination, cracking, or premature failure of the repair.
In this short tutorial video, we walk you through the essential first step in the repair process: cleaning the damaged concrete surface to ensure long-lasting, durable results.
